Oropi School Calf Club Day - 2016

What a fabulous Calf Club we had on Friday!  Not only was the weather on our side, but so many children were able to celebrate their creativity in their Calf Club exhibits, share their love for animals, and showcase their horticultural skills with their hanging baskets.  Congratulations to all!

Cricket 'Give It A Go' Day

Today we were lucky enough to have a a session at school with a great cricket coach.  We tried our hand at many throwing, catching and bouncing activities by ourselves and with a partner.  We had loads of fun and are very keen to keep up these skills in phys ed over the next two weeks.
Kiwi Kids visit our new library!
We were soooooo lucky today to be the first class EVER to visit our new library!  We were very excited about seeing our books back on shelves and even more excited about being able to issue books again.  Thank you 'Library' Mrs Pendergrast for all of the hard work you have put into setting up the library for us all.

Obstacle Course and Hula Hoops!
More fantastic parents were in today running funtabulous Kiwi Olympic Events.  The Obstacle Course involved a tarzan swing, slalom run, hoop hop, commando crawl, tunnel dive and then hurdles.  The challenge was to complete the course in the fastest time.  The finals involved the top 5 girls and boys who then had another chance to complete the course.  Our results are published below.  The Hula Hoop Event involved spinning a hoop around your hips for the longest amount of time.  It was amazing how long these children can hula hoop!  Way longer than Mrs Pendergrast or Mrs Benge put together!  Enjoy viewing photos of our events today.
